Ambush has become one of Canada’s most electrifying live country rock acts, building an intensely loyal fan base across Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. Known proudly as the “Ambush Army,” their following has grown to over a quarter of a million fans strong — and continues to expand year after year. With explosive live performances, crowd interaction, and nonstop energy, Ambush has built a reputation for captivating audiences of all ages wherever they perform. In 2006, Ambush burst onto the national stage after being crowned champions of the CMT reality television series Plucked. Their overwhelming fan support earned the band more than 50% of all votes cast during the season finale. The victory led to the production of their first music video for the Country Music News Top 20 hit This Could Be The Night, followed by a second video for their hauntingly beautiful fan-favourite ballad In This Room. The band’s momentum continued to grow nationally when Ambush earned multiple Canadian Country Music Association award nominations, including: Independent Group or Duo of the Year (2006) Independent Group or Duo of the Year (2007) Group or Duo of the Year (2007) In 2016, Ambush once again gained national recognition after being selected as a CBC Searchlight Top 25 artist out of more than 1,500 artists across Canada with their song Rollin’ Like A Wagon Wheel. Ambush has also had the incredible honour of performing for members of the Canadian Armed Forces at CFS Alert — the northernmost permanently inhabited place on Earth — through federally supported tours in 2016, 2017, and 2019. These unforgettable experiences allowed the band to bring music, energy, and a taste of home to Canadian military personnel stationed in the Arctic. Beyond the stage, Ambush has created a one-of-a-kind fan culture through their annual Caribbean getaway trips, which have brought fans together from across Canada every year since 2003. Combining live music, friendship, travel, and unforgettable memories, these trips have become a signature part of the Ambush experience and a testament to the band’s deep connection with their fans.
