Formado pelos irmãos Charles da Gama (vocal e guitarra) e Chaene Gama (baixo e vocal), junto a Rodrigo Pancho (bateria), o Black Pantera surgiu em 2014, em Uberaba-MG. Seu primeiro álbum, Project Black Pantera, foi lançado no ano seguinte, recebendo excelente repercussão da imprensa. A banda abriu shows de Slayer e Sepultura e se apresentou em festivais como Porão do Rock, Afropunk FR e Virada Cultural. Após assinarem com a gravadora Deck, em 2020 lançaram o single I Can't Breathe, em referência ao assassinato de George Floyd, e o EP Capítulo Negro, com releituras de músicas antirracistas. Em 2022, apresentaram Ascensão, um divisor de águas na carreira do trio, abrindo espaço para apresentações no Rock in Rio, Primavera Sound e Lollapalooza. Em 2024, lançaram seu quarto álbum, PERPÉTUO, expandindo seu som e fortalecendo sua identidade. No mesmo ano, a banda se apresentou novamente no Rock in Rio, além do Knotfest e shows com Living Colour, Sleaford Mods e Sepultura. Também entrou em listas de "os melhores álbuns do ano" em portais como TMDQA, Noize e Rolling Stone. Sua relevância se estendeu à educação, sendo amplamente citada em redações do ENEM. No ano seguinte, em 2025, o Black Pantera venceu o prêmio APCA na categoria "Melhor Música" com a faixa TRADUÇÃO, do álbum PERPÉTUO.
