It’s a rare feat for a recording artist to release 30 albums and score more than 40 Billboard No. 1 singles. It’s even more exceptional for an artist to hit that milestone while firmly in their prime, continuing to grow and evolve with each release. Rarer still is for that genre-crossing songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist to be a dynamic performer who presents their music in ways never before seen, both on stage and online. And beyond that, the artist has built a premium festival brand around unique fan experiences. Brian Culbertson checks every one of these boxes. Culbertson’s sonic approach has been to craft primarily instrumental music fusing jazz, R&B, funk, and pop. He’s been doing it at the highest level since he exploded on the scene after the release of his debut album, Long Night Out, in 1994. That hit-filled set recorded in his college apartment in Chicago instantly established Culbertson as a core artist in the newly emerging smooth jazz genre. Now, on his 30th album, The Midnight Tapes, Culbertson does something he’s never done before: he played every single instrument* on the album himself.

It was absolutely off the chain! Brian Culbertston never disappoints! The show was sonically and aesthetically fulfilling. The way he and the band share the music with the audience is incomparable. The music was a combination of the latest albums, The Trilogy, and a few of his memorable compositions from his decades-long career. You, the fan, felt as if Brian, through his performance, has given his all to you! We were fortunate enough to have VIP tix and witnessed his mastery during the soundcheck. As members of the Hang Club, we were treated to a special meet and greet after the show. Wanita Lynne Choiniere
The Cabot Beverly, MAAn unforgettable night - what a concert Brian Culbertson and his team delivered! The best concert performance we have ever attended, which are many! Brian is so personable and connects with his audience continuously. Brian is truly a gifted musician - he’s the real deal! Look forward to the next time that we get to see him in concert - this was our second time seeing him. If you have the opportunity to see Brian and his team, jump on it! This was a high energy jazz, funk and fusion performance - unlike anything we have seen before!
The National Richmond, VAThere are not enough stars available to adequately describe Brian Culbertson’s performance at the North Carolina Museum of Art! He and his band not only put on a show, they made the audience leave with a smile on their face and a warm feeling in their heart! Brian and the band played for nearly 2 hours never missing a beat and playing a mixture of his old and brand new songs! If you’ve never seen him perform live, take my word for it, you will NOT be disappointed. Take it from a 4 time show attendee in the past 2 years! He’s worth it!
North Carolina Museum Of Art Raleigh, NCI am almost without words! He was fantastic and beyond!❤️❤️ Being a senior citizen, I have to be careful about money. I am a Smokey Robinson fan to the T and usually I just go see Smoke. But I have added Brian to my must see list. He had my 77 year old husband doing the boogie! What a great night we had. Be sure to tell him thank you for us and we will see him again. Hopefully the next time around, I can my grown kids and teenage grandkids! They will love it!❤️ Hugs and stay safe. Keep playing!! Crest Theatre Sacramento, CAOne of the best shows I’ve seen in a really long time. I have seen Brian Culbertson a few other times when I lived in the SF Bay Area in the early 2000’s. We don’t get much smooth jazz around here in SLO and it was a Tuesday night but I didn’t care. I was going even if I had to go alone! All the musicians were outstanding. There were 8 in total and the additional funk vibe of the newer stuff had me on my feet. If you see this tour come your way, GO! You won’t b
