About Black Flower
Five-piece hybrid jazz combo from Belgium piloted by saxophonist / flutist Nathan Daems, mixing Ethio jazz and oriental with afrobeat and dub.
With DJ's Gilles Peterson and Lefto as fans, two albums selected by Radio FIP (France) and several showcases ( WOMEX 17 Showcase Festival, Eurosonic,...) the band is gaining interest with the international audience.
Starting off in 2014 releasing their first album Abyssinia Afterlife on Zephyrus Records/W.E.R.F. Records, band members Nathan Daems (Ragini Trio, Echoes of Zoo, Stavroz), Jon Birdsong (Beck, dEUS, Calexico), Simon Segers (Absynthe Minded, Stadt, De Beren Gieren), Filip Vandebril (Lady Linn, The Valerie Solanas) and Wouter Haest were soon to present their psychedelic mix at the finest venues and festival in Belgium and neighbouring countries.
In 2017 Black Flower got signed with Sdban Ultra Records and released the album Artifacts (2017), followed by the EP single Intermediate State (2018), the album Future Flora (2019) and Magma (2022).
Up until now the band has toured Europe, Brasil and Morocco.
