CANTANTE, COMPOSITOR Y PRODUCTOR. CABAS ES UNO DE LOS ARTISTAS MÁS RESPETADOS EN COLOMBIA Y LATINOAMÉRICA POR SU TRAYECTORIA MUSICAL DE MÁS DE DIEZ AÑOS.
CABAS nació el 7 de octubre de 1977 con música en las venas - su padre, Eduardo Cabas, es músico y compositor por derecho – y fue pionero en fusionar los ritmos tradicionales de Colombia creando e impulsando un nuevo sonido.
CABAS tiene 7 álbumes de estudio publicados y entre los muchos reconocimientos destacan; 5 nominaciones y un Latin Grammy, nominado a Mejor Álbum y a Mejor Interpretación de Rock en los Premios MTV Latin, recibió el Premio de la Gente en los Premios Lo Nuestro así como el Premio Acede de periodismo teatral en Nueva York.
Siendo aún joven, viaja primero a París y a New York después, colaborando con los mejores músicos de Jazz y Salsa.
‘Cabas’ (EMI), su primer álbum homónimo, salió a la venta en Colombia en el 2000 convirtiéndose de inmediato en éxito rotundo. Mi Bombón encabezó las listas del país durante tres meses consecutivos y obtuvo el disco de Platino y de Oro antes de extenderse a México y al resto de América Latina. Otros dos singles del disco, Ana María y Tu Boca, encabezaron las listas en Colombia y en el resto del continente. A estos siguieron una larga lista de hits.
‘Cabas’ se lanzó en Estados Unidos con una cálida acogida por parte de la crítica y obtuvo radiantes notas de prensa. Hizo parte del ‘Best Of’ del 2003 por The New York Times, actuó en la Casa Blanca y recibió la llave de la ciudad de Nueva York.
CABAS lleva años haciendo conciertos y giras en los que ha compartido escenario con estrellas de la talla de Lenny Kravitz, Shakira y Miguel Bosé. Ha producido y coproducido junto a Kike Santander, Carlos Jean, colaborado con Black Eyed Peas, Café Tacuba, Dave Mathews, Bunbury, Orishas, Vicentico, La Mala Rodríguez, Andrés Calamaro, Ximena Sariñana, Juan Luis Guerra entre muchos otros.
Ha compuesto música para niños y contribuye regularmente con causas filantrópicas y altruistas.
CABAS vive entre Bogotá, Ciudad de México y Miami. En sus propias palabras vive “solo con su piano pensando en música las 24 horas del día”.

Born with music in his blood on October 7, 1977 in Barranquilla, Colombia - his father Eduardo Cabas is a well-known musician and composer in his own right - CABAS has created a whole new fusion from his country’s rhythms.
CABAS has released 7 albums and amongst his many accolades are: 5 nominations and one Latin Grammy, nominated for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance at the MTV Latin Awards, the People’s Prize and Best Rock Video at the Premios Lo Nuestro and the Acede Prize for theatrical journalism in New York.
As a young adult CABAS traveled extensively, first to Paris and later to New York where he met and played with prominent jazz and salsa musicians.
His first self-titled album, ‘Cabas’ (EMI) was released in Colombia in 2000 and was an immediate sensation. The first single, Mi Bombón (My Candy) topped the country’s charts for three consecutive months earning him Gold and double Platinum discs before spreading to the rest of Latin-America and Mexico. Two further singles from the album also topped the charts in Colombia and throughout the Americas; Ana Maria and Tu Boca. A long list of hits followed.
‘Cabas’ was released in the United States where it received an enthusiastic reception from critics as well as glowing reviews. He made the New York Times ‘Best Of’ list at the end of 2003, performed at the White House and received the keys to the City of New York.
CABAS has performed & toured extensively over the years with artists like Lenny Kravitz, Shakira and Miguel Bosé. He has produced, co-produced and worked with Kike Santander, Carlos Jean, the Black Eyed Peas, Café Tacuba, Dave Matthews, Bunbury, Orishas, Vicentico, La Mala Rodríguez, Andres Calamaro, Ximena Sariñana and Juan Luis Guerra among many others.
He has composed music for children and is known for his charitable and philanthropic contributions.
CABAS commutes between Bogota, Mexico City and Miami. In his own words, he “lives alone with his piano and is in love with music 24 hours a day”.
