David Rust a Scottish born Trance DJ and producer is a name on the rise and someone who is following in the footsteps of fellow Scottish Trance heroes such as Mark Sherry, David Forbes and Will Atkinson. There is absolutely nothing rusty about David's skill set, in fact this slick DJ/Producer hailing from the city of Glasgow is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most promising new age trance artists. A DJ first and foremost, taking a huge influence from the blistering technical Decks ’n’ FX styles of DJs such as Eddie Halliwell and Jordan Suckley. He is a true performer who fuses various upbeat styles on the more intense end of the trance spectrum. David's passion for music past and present is evident as he takes his main musical influences from the likes of Picotto’s BXR days, Randy Katana, Fred Baker, Scot Project & most notably early Sander Van Doorn. More recently David has taken his inspirations from the likes of John O'Callaghan, Simon Patterson and Sean Tyas to name a few. A David Rust set is much more diverse than most, in that he takes Tech Trance, Trance, Psy-Trance, Techno old and new and bridges them seamlessly. Using a combination of chopping, cutting, scratching and with clever use of FX, a defined and expert performance is delivered. Keeping the mood dark and tech driven while introducing uplifting sounds to create a perfect blend of energising euphoria. Studio wise David caught the producing bug around 2013 and since then he has been working tirelessly to improve his production sound which is evidently shown on every release. In 2015 David caught the attention of killer labels such as Damaged Records, In Trance We Trust and Trance All Stars. Gaining multiple top 15 releases in the both Beatport’s Trance & Psy-Trance top 100 and also racking up some serious A-list DJ radio support including ASOT, FSOE and Open Up. He has also became a regular artist for the Komplex Sounds collective but make no mistake David has many more top imprints in his sights going forward. This year and onwards will see this exciting artist continue to gain momentum attracting new fans the world over. David is somewhat of a go to man for supporting the international guests coming to Scotland having already supported some of the biggest names in Trance including Paul Oakenfold, John O’Callaghan, John Askew, Simon Patterson, Eddie Halliwell, Sean Tyas and many many more. As well as headlining some more intimate gigs he has fulfilled a lifetime ambition by playing at INSIDE OUT in the world famous 'The Arches' in Glasgow. This venue has played a massive influence to David shaping him into becoming a DJ in the first place. Further afield he has a gig diary that is ever increasing with shows scheduled all over Europe and with plans of more and more international gigs coming to fruition. David Rust is proof that by sticking to your guns and working hard the rewards will come.
