About Divine Chaos
New forces collide in the Divine Chaos machine. ‘Hate Reactor’ their latest offering since 2020’s “The Way To Oblivion” Sees a shift of personnel, with drum duties changing hands for the first time since their debut release. Mariusz Mareki replacing James Stewart (Vader, Decapitated). As well as mixing duties, this time by UK’s own Chris Clancy (Machine Head, Kataklysm, Evile)
From their debut release onwards the vision has remained the same. “Every Empire Shall Fall’, a masterclass in modern thrash, with the twin guitar attack from Chris O'Toole and Matt Gilmour, cemented DC’s sound as the 2000’s answer to the riff-ridden classic thrash era of the 80s. Absorbing the best of everything that came after. This ethos has seen DC delivering their brand of 7 string thrash brutality to audiences across the globe in an unrelenting fashion.
Festival appearances showcasing the bands precision and ferocity at UK’s Bloodstock Open Air and tours supporting the likes of Polish legends ‘Vader’ took the bands credentials to new heights, before returning to work on their follow up album. Scott Atkins once again on the helm, this time to deliver the bands first full length “A New Dawn In The Age of War”. This release pushed the band's technical boundaries and explored a wide range of influences as DC continued to evolve, whilst maintaining their thrash roots.
“A New Dawn” broke to high acclaim including full page features across the UK metal press, from Metal Hammer to ‘The Guardian’, with the video for the album's lead single “Fields Of The Fallen” hitting 96,000 views. This time saw the band supporting reformed metal legends Mantas and Abandon (Venom Inc), and Ireland's own Gama Bomb. It wasn’t long before Divine Chaos were back on the festival circuit, this time playing Bloodstock's Sophie Lancaster stage on two further occasions, as well as European festivals Metal Mine and Gothoom. Getting the opportunity to play alongside Decapitated, Rotting Christ, The Haunted and many other acts that had initially influenced DC’s sound.
After a hiatus from the studio, Jut Tabor (Furyborn/Metaprism) is recruited to bring a new dimension. Pitched vocals and an increased level of aggression, heard for the first time on “The Way To Oblivion”. Along with Craig Daws (Sacred Mother Tongue, Andy James) on bass duties. A return to where it all began with a main stage appearance at 2021’s Bloodstock festival, to a now familiar and growing crowd, kick started the DC momentum. Add to that the success of the singles “Murder For Sale" being added to Spotify's ”Thrashers" playlist, and “Serpent's Words” hitting 108,000 Spotify plays. Support to a recently reformed Evile in 2022 reunited Divine Chaos with The UK live circuit and a growing demand for new material amongst their established, as well as newly recruited fanbase.
Armed with their brand-new opus “Hate Reactor” the band once again refine the DC sound with more focus, hooks and a richer vocal soundscape. The vision remains the same but the execution and delivery moves on for the genre pioneers that still have a lot more to say and contribute to the metal scene on all shores.
