Martina Sorbara, better known as the electro-pop outfit Dragonette, has lived multiple musical lifetimes over the past 15 years. A Juno-winning artist and sought-after songwriter, Sorbara has scored numerous global hits, including “Pick Up the Phone,” “Let it Go,” and the chart-topping “Hello” with Martin Solveig. She’s collaborated with the world’s biggest DJs (Basement Jaxx, Kaskade, and Galantis, among others) and released five acclaimed albums, including the Juno-nominated Fixin to Thrill (2009) and Bodyparts (2012). Along the way, Dragonette has headlined shows across the globe; supported the likes of Duran Duran, New Order, Ke$ha, and Miike Snow; and played to thousands of fans at Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza. A longtime priority songwriter, the Toronto-based Sorbara also regularly works with acts under UMG, Warner Music, Armada and Spinnin’. Her musically diverse credits include songs for Keith Urban, Morgan Wallen, Dua Lipa, Cyndi Lauper, Pretty Sister, Mike Mago, and Carly Rae Jepsen with The Knocks. Following, Sorbara’s acclaimed album Twennies, released in 2022, Dragonette moves into the newest chapter of her illustrious career, looking forward with more wisdom, experience and confidence than ever before, and creating her best works to date. Last year, she released “Revelation” with the Knocks following their GRAMMY® Nominated 2022 hit, “Slow Song”. Their collaborative performance includes Aquaria (Revelation Technoligies’ use and CEO) and has been delighting fans across the country. ‘Revelation LIVE’ debuted at Pride Events in 2025 including OutLoud WeHo (LA), Nashville, Seattle, Boise and Denver. After successful shows last December in NY and LA they have planned more performances this Spring in Austin, SF, Chicago and Washington DC. This spring, Martina embarks on another album release. Tiny Sun is the music art project of Dragonette, The Henrys’ front man Don Rooke, and film score writer and arranger Jonathan Goldsmith. Written over the course of several years the pieces range in style from cinematic lush soundscapes to lap steel country twang with many deviations on the way. The only prevailing constant is the length of the pieces: All under 2 minutes. An idea born in a time well before the Spotify-whittled-down song length so prevalent in mainstream music. The pieces, through the only constraint of brevity, string together like little distinctive beads in a necklace, each unique but belonging together. The release of the album was accelerated with a performance at Koerner Hall in Toronto which will include the Royal Conservatory Orchestra and include Tiny Sun and Dragonette songs. It will be a night to be remembered.
