About Everybody's Worried About Owen
“Everybody’s Worried about Owen” is a very literal name for Owen Trawick’s frankenstein-like Solo Project, Which blends Folk Punk, Midwest Emo, Musical Theatre, and Indie-Singer/songwriter sensibilities together. Owen’s Musical Journey Began during the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic- a period of time that saw many struggling with their mental health and wondering what to do next, HenCe the name. Trawick’s First releases were The singles The Soccer Journals, And Mawce, both of which can be found on their first EP, There Are Leeches In Denton Lake. “There Are Leeches In Denton Lake exemplifies isolation and loneliness in a way that a 4-Piece band can’t. It’s raw, it’s underproduced, and it sings songs of a bleeding heart. Most importantly, while it can intensify those feelings of Isolation, sometimes you need something that’s singing the same tune as your head to bring you back to light. Everybody’s Worried About Owen’s ‘There Are Leeches In Denton Lake’ exacerbates this exact feeling through Owen Trawick’s acoustic guitar and vocals. The special blend of Folk Punk and 5th Wave Emo complements Trawick’s vocals, which leave nothing on the kitchen table, pure raw emotion” (Polarity-Mag.com) Following Owen’s First EP Came The Single Gut Punch/Don’t Meet your Idols, and Yerba Muerte- A split with Fellow Folk-Punk Artist The Last Arizona. Then in May of 2o23 Trawick released their second EP Nunemaker’s Swingset. This Concept EP follows the lose story of the ghost of Sally Nunemaker, a character from Summer Camp stories Trawick has held close to their heart since their childhood. Rich Symbolism, Sweeping instrumentation, and powerful lyrics about searching for guidance and avoiding isolation make this EP something worth sinking your teeth into if you are a fan of musical storytelling. Everybody’s Worried About Owen’s Most Recent Release is their first full Album, I love The Red Trail, produced by Say 10 Records. This album is about Growing older, making mistakes, and most of all having fun with those closest to you. “While folk punk is the engine here, there’s also a clear emo influence here as well. The result is carefully crafted songs filled with raw emotion, heartbreak, and storytelling. The tunes are also extremely catchy and addictive. They make [you] want to be in the crowd at a packed club singing [your] heart out along with Owen and all [your] new friends. [one] can already picture Smoking Filter, Hydroplaning, and Banyon Drive will sound live” (Bearded Man Music) If you take a listen to any of Everybody’s worried about Owen’s Tracks and find yourself wondering ‘where have I heard this before?’ YOU MAY LIKELy have stumbled across Owen on Tiktok, as a majority of their early success came as a direct result of the short-form video content app. In particular tracks like mawce, Gut punch/Dont meet your idols, and nunemakers parable have found their place in the headphones of young queer audiences across the world, an achievement which Owen is very proud of considering the impetus for this project was always to create music for queer young people to honor the bands and musicians who did the same for Trawick During their childhood. Since their beginNings in 2020, Everybody’s Worried About Owen has toured much of the United States sharing the stage with acts such as June henry, Sister wife Sex Strike, and local News Legend among many others. While a future in the world of music is never guaranteed, Trawick is committed to riding this project until the wheels fall off and can’t wait to see what happens next.
