Originally venturing west to San Francisco from Albuquerque NM in the early 1990's after the breakup of his punky psychedelic wastrel band The Angry Babies, McFadden soon found himself fronting an acclaimed prog-jazz punk trio with prominent violin called Liar. Stints playing in bluesy pick up groups like The Faraway Brothers and many late night jam sessions led to a long running spot as guitarist in funk maestro George Clinton's P-Funk All Stars road revue. Eric McFadden as a solo artist lyrically explores a dark and freaky circus like landscape populated with frustrated oddballs, and embellishes these tales with guitar playing that quotes icons like Django Reinhardt as easily as Eddie Hazel. He lives a gypsy like existence with dwellings in multiple cities and concentrates lately gigs with the Eric McFadden Trio.
