About Fresku
ROY MICHAEL REYMOUND
Eindhoven, 26 oktober 1986
Fresku bracht eind 2008 het nummer Brief aan Kees uit, gericht aan Kees de Koning, wat hem een contract opleverde bij Top Notch. In 2010 verscheen zijn debuutalbum Fresku, waarop in 2012 de plaat Maskerade volgde. Beide albums werden verkozen tot Beste Album bij de State Awards. Ook zijn derde album Nooit Meer Terug (2015) werd alom bejubeld. Intussen is Fresku uitgegroeid tot een creatieve duizendpoot: hij acteert, heeft als cabaretier meerdere succesvolle theatertours gespeeld en runt zijn eigen label Baranka Music. Muziek blijft intussen de basis. In 2021 verscheen zijn album In de Lucht (Deel 1) en in 2024 Leren Leven.
Edisons 2025
Fresku's album Leren Leven werd in 2025 bekroond met een Edison, een erkenning die niet alleen zijn artistieke groei onderstreept, maar ook zijn onafhankelijke koers. Als eigenaar van Baranka Music en Posterboyz bewijst hij dat je buiten de gevestigde labels om impact kunt maken. Zijn werkwijze – zelf de regie houden, van creatie tot release – inspireert een nieuwe generatie makers die niet langer afhankelijk willen zijn van de grillen van grote platenmaatschappijen.
