Ghostwriter Steve Schecter melds influences from country-blues to post-punk wielding a guitar and homemade foot-percussion device, creating a unique, lyrical, and driven version of American roots music. Touring since 2002, he has opened for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and T-Model Ford, toured alongside Dex Romweber (Flat Duo Jets), Bloodshot Bill, and The Legendary Shack Shakers, and released ten albums on his own End of the West label. "Ghostwriter's sound ranges from bombastic Southern rock and boogieing punk to troubadour folk storytelling and lo-fi bluesy rockabilly.
