Gabriel Sater, filho primogênito do violeiro Almir Sater, nasceu em São Paulo - Sp, em 27 de novembro de 1981 e foi criado em Campo Grande Ms, desde os 2 anos de idade. Aos 15, o jovem Gabriel começou estudar violão apenas por lazer, sem pretenções profissionais. Aos 16 anos, em 1998, foi concluir o último ano do ensino médio em escola dos Eua, onde teve aulas de teatro e se destacou nos esportes. Aos 18 anos, já de volta ao Brasil há 1 ano, e tendo aulas regulares de violão com o maestro gaúcho Cristiano Kotlinski, Gabriel Sater decidiu se profissionalizar na carreira musical. O ano 2000 marca o pontapé inicial da carreira de sucesso de Gabriel Sater. Neste ano, aos 19 anos, o artista ganhou o primeiro prêmio de sua carreira, no Festival Universitário da Canção no Mato Grosso do Sul. Desde então Gabriel Sater recebeu diversos prêmios e indicações com sua obra musical.
