About Giovanni Allevi
Composer, pianist, philosopher, conductor, and one of the most beloved multifaceted artists worldwide. Giovanni Allevi is credited with a
profound renewal of classical music, bringing the art of composition back to the attention of younger generations. He graduated with honors
in Piano and Composition and earned a cum laude degree in Philosophy with a thesis titled "The Vacuum in Contemporary Physics." He has
performed on the stages of the world's most prestigious concert halls, from Carnegie Hall in New York to Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the
Auditorium of the Forbidden City in Beijing.
Thanks to his intellectual commitment, he is a philosophical reference point on the concepts of innovation and change analysis. Numerous
university theses have been dedicated to him. He has been knighted as a Cavaliere of the Italian Republic for artistic and cultural merits,
awarded the Stella d’Oro al Valor Mozartiano for "bringing Classical Music back to its ancient glory," the Falcone and Borsellino Prize,
and named an Ambassador of Save the Children, advocating for children's rights. He has received recognition from Pope Benedict XVI,
Pope Francis, Nobel laureate Mikhail Gorbachev, the Albatros Award for his significant contribution to spreading culture among young
generations, and the international Golden Opera Awards - Oscar della Lirica.
NASA has named an asteroid after him: giovanniallevi111561.
With the piece "Our Future" (https://youtu.be/76C5cn9jQKQ?si=Pf-ukE8c4TvA-wYg), which was honored
with its premiere at COP26 in Glasgow, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, Maestro Giovanni Allevi was appointed European
Ambassador of the Earth Day European Network for his support of young activists committed to safeguarding the future of our planet.
He has conducted his symphonic music at the helm of orchestras such as the All Stars Orchestra, the China Philharmonic Orchestra, the
Orchestra of Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, and Orchestra Sinfonica Italiana. His symphonic works have also been well-received and
performed by conductors such as Daniel Kawka, Claudio Scimone, Hirofumi Yoshida, and Juri Gilbo. His Concerto in F minor for Violin
and Orchestra has been interpreted by internationally renowned young violinists, including Mariusz Patyra, Natalia Lomeiko, Marianna
Vasileva, Reiko Watanabe, and Yury Revich.
Giovanni Allevi is also a successful writer. His first autobiography, La musica in testa (Music in My Head), became a bestseller and
received the Elsa Morante Literary Prize. Among his literary works the essay dedicated to his favorite instrument, Le regole del
pianoforte - 33 notes of music and philosophy for an extraordinary life, stands out.
"Tomorrow" (https://youtu.be/Ym9tlsXfCl0?feature=shared) is Maestro Giovanni Allevi’s latest single, performed live for the first time on
the stage of the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo during the 74th edition of the Italian Song Festival. This marked his return to the artistic
scene after a long hiatus due to multiple myeloma, a journey of challenges, suffering, and unexpected rebirth.
His latest book, written during his illness, is titled I NOVE DONI - Sulla via della felicità (THE NINE GIFTS - On the Path to Happiness) -
published by Solferino. It is a profound reflection on life, a guide to embracing one’s fragility, and discovering the gifts that
challenges can reveal, leading to a more authentic happiness.
In 2024, Maestro Allevi returned to the stages of the most renowned theaters with an international solo piano tour, entirely sold out in
advance until spring 2025. This is a strong testament to the deep bond with his vast audience, which has eagerly awaited and continuously
supported him, celebrating every concert as a grand embrace.
