Husky, brainchild of singer/songwriter Husky Gawenda and producer/composer Gideon Preiss, are about to go on tour in Australia to celebrate 15 years of their much loved debut album ‘Forever So’. The first Australian band to be signed to iconic US label Sub Pop Records (Fleet Foxes, Nirvana, Father John Misty), Husky was at the forefront of the new-folk resurgence and went on to tour the world many times over, including with folk hero Neil Young. Their five-piece band has become known for their world class show, with gorgeous harmonies, dazzling musicianship and storytelling that echoes the greats, like Nick Drake and Paul Simon. Claiming Double J’s coveted feature album in the week of its release, Punchbuzz is the band’s rockiest album to date, with it’s lush and dreamy production full of 70’s folk synth soundscapes carrying Husky Gawenda’s signature voice as he sings poetically about another time and place where ancient gods and mystics reign. Husky will be playing a string of intimate shows at intimate and iconic rock venues around the country in April as part of their ‘Walking in Your Sleep’ single tour.
