Inti-Illimani (1967) es un nombre compuesto del quechua Inti y del aymara Illimani y significa Sol del Illimani (el hermoso nevado boliviano). Grupo musical formado en 1967 y que hoy está compuesto por Jorge Coulon, Marcelo Coulon, Efren Viera, Daniel Cantillana, Christian González, César Jara (director musical), Camilo Lema y David Azán. El año 2017, este connotado grupo chileno cumplió ya 50 años de ininterrumpida trayectoria artística. Aniversario que se celebró con una gira por Chile y con dos conciertos a tablero vuelto en el Teatro Caupolicán de Santiago en agosto del mismo año. El conjunto, formado en un inicio por un grupo de jóvenes estudiantes de la Universidad Técnica del Estado de Chile, surge dentro del movimiento llamado “La Nueva Canción Chilena” que se desarrolla entre 1965 y 1973. Desde 1973 se radican en Europa, específicamente en Italia. A contar de la década de 1980, su carrera ha acumulado un éxito tras otro, alcanzando los primeros lugares del ranking italiano y atesorando innumerables discos de Oro y de Platino. El conjunto ha compartido escenario y tocado con artistas de la talla de Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman, John Williams, Paco Peña, Mercedes Sosa, Silvio Rodríguez, Milton Nascimento, Danielle Silvestre, Lucio Dalla, Franco Simone, Pablo Milanés, Francesca Gagnon, Arja Saijonmaa, Holly Near, Joan Baez, Marta Gómez, Isabel Parra, Georgina Hassan, Víctor Heredia, entre otros.
