Hailed as one of the most prodigious guitarists of his generation and “highest category of improvising musicians" (New Yorker), Julian Lage has spent more than a decade searching through the myriad strains of American musical history via impeccable technique, free association and a spirit of infinite possibility. The California-born New York-based musician boasts a prolific resume on his own accord in addition to collaborating with Gary Burton and John Zorn, as well as duo projects with Nels Cline, Chris Eldridge and Fred Hersch, among others.

What a lovely show. Very small room, I think it only holds about 150 people. The sound was amazing. Becca Stevens was amazing too. If you are a fan, seeing them both in person is worth it.
Tree House Brewing Company - Deerfield Deerfield, MAJulian, Jorge Roeder and Dave King were firing on all cylinders at the Village Vanguard. The level of interplay and mastery of their instruments was amazing to witness.
Village Vanguard New York, NYUnreal Hammond and Piano. Drummer had a wonderful pocket and dynamics. Tasty. Guitar style was quite unique. Bass was really good. Interesting parts and sensitivity throughout set.
The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts Vancouver, BCI have seen Julian Lage before, live with his trio. This was a special treat to see him solo. The venue was fantastic, as was the show.
SFJAZZ Center San Francisco, CATrès professionnel. Quelle dextérité ! Dextérité mise en avant au détriment parfois de l'enthousiasme que peuvent générer des morceaux rythmés, et qui entraînent l'adhésion du public.
