About Jelly Roll
Outright genre-bending singer/songwriter Jelly Roll has quietly been building a remarkable career, under the radar and on his own terms. Since his days selling his mixtapes out of his car, he has constantly been releasing new music, touring relentlessly, consistently topping various charts, engaging a rabid fanbase & creating videos that have amassed more than 4 Billion views on YouTube. He pairs deeply personal lyrics with music that blends Old-school Rap, Classic Rock, Country and Soul to create music that is therapeutic, raw and tackles the heaviness in life.
His 2020 single “Save Me” — a confessional, vulnerable expression of self-doubt set the stage for his new season of life and took him to new heights, with more than 160 million views on YouTube and Platinum certification from the RIAA. Born and raised in Nashville’s Antioch neighborhood, the former addict and drug dealer released his album Ballads of the Broken in 2021, ahead of his sold-out hometown show at the famous Ryman Auditorium, which sold out in under an hour. Now after a history-making “breakthrough year” (American Songwriter), having just sold-out Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, releasing the riveting anthem “Need A Favor” from his highly anticipated forthcoming album, WHITSITT CHAPEL, plus earning his first 3 CMT Award wins, the reigning No. 1 of Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart for 25 weeks is well on his way to mainstream, multi-genre stardom.

So I'd heard of this guy (my sister follows his wife on tiktok), but if never listened to his music before this show.
But damned if i don't live him to death now. Because he put on a great showand I'm so happy I got to discover him and see what he was about.
Not only was the show awesome, but Jelly Roll himself was so cool. You can really tell he's grateful for his success, that he felt and genuinely appreciates his fans so much. He made a point of connecting with the audience, of yelling them how much he appreciated them, and then he connects in a human level too, relating to people through the emotions of his songs. Dude seems like he's a regular person, just like everyone else, and he really makes you feel like he cares about the audience, like his fans matter to him. That alone just made me fall in love with him. Because his music is great and I could listen to it all day, but even more, I love who he is as a person, someone who's humble, who has a heart of good and hasn't met success or fame turn him a jerk.
I'll forever be a fan after that. Total Jelly Roll stan now, lol

The most amazing concert I have attended and I have seen some of the greats — Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Springsteen, Billy Joel, Journey, etc. So thankful JPJ Arena was chosen rather than VSU’s arena.
Jelly Roll’s closing number was magical. The band was Nashville’s finest, the videographer was truly supreme. The local inmates JR brought to the concert, the story of their meeting, and the inmates’ performance during the concert. The entire show was a gift of love, forgiveness, and redemption.
There were only two problems IMO. 1) The lighting engineer needs some training/practice; they kept turning the white overhead lights on during the warmup acts. These lights are turned on for intermission between acts not during a performance. And 2) the sound level. I always wear hearing protection at shows but I really needed my Bose noise cancelling headphones for this show. My husband checked decibel level and it was over 140! I was fortunate I only had a splitting headache and not a migraine.

Jelly Roll was amazing. So was his openers, Alexandra Kay & Warren Zeiders. My favorite song Alexandra Kay performed was "All I've Ever Known". What made it amazing, Alexandra Kay did not have a record label and was a completely independent artist, and she did it all on her own. My favorite Warren Zeiders song he did was "Heartbreaker", "Pretty Little Poison", and "Ride the Lighting". My favorite Jelly Roll song he performed was, "I Am Not Okay", "Son of a Sinner" "Need A Favor", "Save Me", "Halfway to Hell", "Bottle and Mary Jane". I recommend everyone to get their tickets to go see Jelly Roll in concert. The Jelly Roll concert was one Hell of a concert. I loved when Jelly Roll said he was going to Oregon State Prison, and give a speech at the prison and sing a few songs maybe for the prisoners, and try to change their life around like Jelly Roll did.
