About Misc
Misc, trio instrumental de jazz mutant basé à Montréal, soutient ses mélodies cinématiques par de solides grooves. Si son esthétique s’articule autour de la formule piano-basse-batterie, l’utilisation de divers effets, de synthétiseurs, de percussions atypiques et d’échantillonnages, forme une mosaïque sonore qui transcende l'idiome traditionnel du jazz. Fondé en 2010 et maintes fois primé depuis, Misc a transporté ses compositions sur plusieurs continents et se plaît aussi à faire voyager son public en l’invitant à se déplacer librement autour du groupe durant la prestation. Passant de l’introspection méditative à l’envolée psychédélico-prog au sein d’une même pièce, la musique de Misc s’abreuve de toutes les influences imaginables sans pour autant manquer de cohérence. C’est qu’elle est longuement réfléchie et composée collaborativement par Jérôme Beaulieu, William Côté et Jérémi Roy, musiciens réputés sur la scène musicale québécoise (Daniel Bélanger, les Louanges, Esmérine, Bellflower, etc.). Un cinquième album, dont l’élaboration est en cours, paraîtra en 2024.
