Marlo singt schön provokant über die Welt, die ihn umgibt. Der dreiundzwanzigjähirige Hamburger packt seine kritischen Texte in ein raues Pop-Gewand. Seine kraftvolle Stimme trägt uns durch nostalgische Melodien und mitreißende Rhythmen. Seit er denken kann, verarbeitet er seine Sorgen und Ängste in eigenen Texten. Aus der Frage, wohin es ihn nach der Schulzeit zieht, entstand seine erste Single “Paradies”. “Ich bau mein eigenes Paradies“ ist seitdem seine Devise. Somit fährt Marlo mit seiner Band im Sommer mit ihren Instrumenten im Kofferraum nach Lissabon, um an der Atlantikküste sein Debütalbum aufzunehmen. In Zusammenarbeit mit Florian Luig und Thomas Böck entstanden Songs wie “Ein Letztes Liebeslied“, in welchem Marlo den romantischen Weltuntergang besingt. Bei “Christian Lindner“ lässt Marlo seinen Frust am Liberalismus aus, ohne aber dabei den Zeigefinger zu hoch zu halten. Marlo lässt einen in die Gedanken und Sorgen eines 23-Jährigen blicken und hautnah erleben. Schön vulgär “in Thailand ficken”, schön verzweifelt “Lass uns trinken, auf dass es bald vorbei ist.”.
