This is a double artist page for the Italian Meg and the Japanese MEG. 1. Meg (Maria Di Donna) was born in Napoli (Naples), Italy. In 1994 , during the national occupation of italian universities and students demonstrations, she joins the band 99 Posse. This was a real tourning point for her and for the band’s life. She took part in the writing of four among the most fundamental albums of the italian avant-garde music panorama ( “Cerco tiempo”, “Corto Circuito”, “La vida que vendrà”, “NA_99_10” ). In 2004 she gave birth to her first solo homonym album, “Meg”. Here she did composing, writing and playing and programming, creating her own audioworld, exploring all the deep emotional parts of herself , in a fresh, experimental, “multiformis” way. New collaborations in 2006: with Zu, Gnu Quartet and Katia Labeque. In 2007, she finished her new album co-produced with Stefano Fontana - a.k.a Stylophonic. The album, titled “Psychodelice” has been released on April 16th, 2008. 2. MEG was born in Hiroshima, Japan in 1980. At the age of 19, MEG auditioned for a record company, and passed their auditions. She made her indies debut in 2001 with the single “Kasa to Shizuku”. It was around this time that she also began modelling for magazines like CUTIE and non-no. In July 2002 MEG made her major label debut with the single “Scanty Blues”, produced by 岡村靖幸. Her second single was a cover of the song “Ikenai Kotokai”. (“Kasa to Shizuku” was coupled with this single.) Although Okamura stopped producing her, she continued to release albums and singles throughout 2004. In the summer of 2004 MEG started her own fashion brand called “cheryl”, all of which was designed by MEG herself. In January 2006 she changed the capitalization of her stagename from “meg” to “MEG”. Her ninth single, “Amai Zeitaku”, was the first to be produced by capsule’s Nakata Yasutaka. Her next single was also produced by Nakata; it was her first after being signed to Universal Music Japan. She has continued to work with Nakata for her singles, including her new single PRECIOUS being released on 17 September 2008, and her albums “BEAM” and “STEP” were also produced by him.
