About Milanku
Inspired by the work and spirit of Czech author Milan Kundera, Milanku expresses
brutality, nostalgia and melancholia. Defined by its minimal use of vocals, Montreal
post-rock band Milanku focuses on sobriety to express contemporary chaos and lack
of common sense. Known as a reference of the genre throughout Quebec, Milanku has
been GAMIQ-nominated for Best-Album – Metal several times within the last years.
Milanku voit le jour en 2006 à Montréal. Inspiré de l’œuvre de l’auteur tchèque Milan Kundera,
Milanku percute par son caractère brutal, à la fois nostalgique et mélancolique. Se définissant
par son côté sombre, le groupe mise sur la sobriété et l’usage minimal de la présence vocale pour
rappeler l’état dramatique contemporain d’un monde dénudé de sens commun dans lequel
l’homme cherche une vérité à travers le chaos de la routine. Les textes en français qui accompagnent la
musique élèvent le groupe au titre de référence du genre au Québec.
