Le groupe a été créé en 1995 dans un premier temps comme un groupe de reprises de Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath et beaucoup d’autres. Après de nombreux changements de line-up et suite au décès de Greg, leur chanteur, en 2009, Steph, guitariste d’origine passe au chant. La formation restera à quatre jusqu’en 2015 avec près d’une centaine de concerts. En mai 2015, le groupe décide de se consacrer aux compos qu’ils avaient dans les « tiroirs » et de devenir un groupe à part entière de pur thrash metal old school. Le premier album « Century of Decadence » est sorti le 16 Décembre 2017 Le deuxième est en cours de finalisation et sortira en 2023 Obsession enchaîne les concerts et s’impose aujourd’hui comme une valeur montante de la scène thrash death.
