PillowTalk is not just that late-night whisper before bed; it’s also the eclectic electronic ensemble that’s been captivating fans with its signature blend of house, indie dance, disco, soul, and electronica since 2011. Born in San Francisco, founding members Sammy Doyle, Ryan Williams, and Michael Tello came together during spontaneous late-night jams around a baby grand piano, laying the foundation for a sound that would spawn underground cult classics embraced by dance music aficionados around the world. Blending electronic production with heartfelt songwriting, soulful vocals, and beautiful live instrumentation, PillowTalk has spent over a decade exploring the space between underground dance culture and live music. Alongside longtime collaborator Shane Duryea, they have since built a Brooklyn-based studio and expanded into a full live band, carrying the spirit of those early sessions into their latest evolution. That evolution brings vocalist Hannah Noelle into the fold, whose verses, duets, and harmonies add a new dimension to the group’s music. Tate Masimore brings his P-Funk roots to guitar and bass, while Colin Brown contributes standout keyboard arrangements and solos, expanding the band’s musical range on record and on stage. Now signed to Empire Dance, PillowTalk is gearing up for the release of Last Dance On The World, their highly anticipated third studio album. The signing marks a major milestone for the band, bringing their next chapter of releases to a global audience while setting the stage for their most ambitious body of work to date. At the heart of it all is a philosophy they’ve lived by since 2011: D.A.G. (Destroy All Genres). It’s the foundation of everything they do: emotional honesty, fearless exploration, and the belief that the best music exists beyond categories. Last Dance On The World finds PillowTalk moving effortlessly between genres without losing its identity. Soul and disco intertwine with electronica, indie rock, future R&B, and unexpected flashes of ’80s-inspired alternative. Playful storytelling, relatable lyrics, and heartfelt vocal performances meet intricate melodies, warm basslines, and infectious rhythms, creating a record that moves the dancefloor while preserving the intimacy and emotional honesty at the heart of PillowTalk’s songwriting. PillowTalk’s journey has taken them to stages far and wide, including Glastonbury, Sónar, ADE, DGTL, BPM, Movement, Lightning in a Bottle, Outside Lands, and Dirtybird Campout, among others. From intimate late-night DJ sets to full-band performances, they’ve always followed their musical instincts, blurring the lines between the dancefloor and the stage. In 2027, PillowTalk hits the road once again with new music, a new lineup, and a live show that builds on everything they’ve created since 2011. With new sounds to share and new places to discover, the band is ready to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and bring their music to new audiences.
