Boa stands as one of the most distinguished German songwriters - lyrics reflect "absurd dreams, love songs, double-meaning stories, at times deranged content, while always finding poetic beauty underlining everything he writes". "Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub are one the most prestigious German bands, also acknowledged by international critics" (ARD - the world's largest public broadcaster). They are the German band with the most "Album & Single of the week" credits in the British music press (8 x Single of the week and 5 x Album of the week in NME, Melody Maker etc.). In the survey "The most influential German musicians" they were in the Top 20. Their extremely loyal fans admire Boa for his radical independence.
