About River Shook

River Shook lives to evolve. After a decade making their mark on country music with their first project (Sarah Shook & the Disarmers), River Shook debuts as a solo artist in 2026. Shook’s songwriting sets the standard with galvanizing, unforgettable lyrics. Their penchant for incorporating elements of indie rock and pop puts them front and center as an act to watch: a one-of-a-kind artist who energetically pushes country music into new territory. On their debut single, “Wildlands,” Shook takes us out on deep, black waters. Addictive vocal melodies spill over and rise, shimmering pedal steel and acoustic guitars weaving easily between Shook’s trademark arrow-to-the-heart lyrics. Co-produced with Blake Tallent, “Wildlands” is a wide-open door into the future Shook is building. Shook’s reputation for magnetizing, high-energy performances has put them center stage with the Disarmers at festivals like SXSW, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Under The Big Sky, Pilgrimage, Take Root in the Netherlands, and the Long Road in the UK. They’ve supported Willie Nelson, Tyler Childers, and the Indigo Girls, and sold out headlining shows from New York City to Los Angeles, from Barcelona to Stockholm. Shook’s "Talkin' To Myself" was the theme song on the Apple TV+ show High Desert. 2021 movie Lorelei, starring Pablo Schreiber and Jena Malone, featured two of Shook’s songs, “New Ways To Fail” and “Keep The Home Fires Burnin.” Shook and the Disarmers will appear as themselves in upcoming Magnolia Pictures’ doomed outlaw couple thriller Carolina Caroline, starring Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner, and the film features song placements for “The Nail” and “Fuck Up.” Shook will also appear in Ethan Hawke’s new Merle Haggard documentary - “Highway 99: A Double Album” - for an interview with Hawke and an acoustic cover of Haggard’s “Emptiest Arms in the World.” To promote the last Disarmers record, Revelations, the New York Times ran a full artist profile on Shook, which appeared online and in print. Over the years, Disarmers' releases have garnered accolades from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Paste, PopMatters, No Depression, and the Wall Street Journal. The Disarmers’ sophomore album, Years, was named Best Rock Album of 2018 by the Chicago Tribune. Shook’s debut album release has yet to be announced, but it is just around the corner. You can find them on the road backed by a full band of heavy hitters, their effortless ability to connect with new fans, and an unmistakable sound that appeals to a wide spectrum of music fans: classic country purists, indie rockers, pop fans, and beyond.

As always, an outstanding show in a great venue. Modern Moxie, the opener, was fun and quirky. Sarah Shook and the Disarmers once again put on a great show. Lots of favorites on this farewell tour. Don’t miss them!

Hard to believe we got to see Sarah and her band at this small venue for just $5. Great set with highlights being "New Ways To Fail" and "Damned If I Do, Damned If I Don't."

Sarah Shook is one of the best songwriters I've heard in a long time. We're talking on level with Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams. She puts on a great show too. Such an amazing voice.

One of the best shows I've ever been to! Especially the unexpected instrumental piece at the end, that went HARD. I have a 4 day pass to Aftershock but I'm glad I did this instead
