Shakatak are a London based band who gained success during the 80s with an infectious blend of jazz/funk and pop. Band members include Bill Sharpe and Nigel Wright and the crystal clear vocals were provided by Jill Saward. Most of their singles only reached the low end of the UK's top 75 charts but they did score two top ten hits with Night Birds (1982) and Down On The Street (1984). Still playing together 25 years after they started, this band show no signs of going away, and have collected a very loyal following.
