‘Silica Gel’ is a band formed by four individuals united by their passion for music during their university days. Despite spending nearly a decade in relative obscurity, they never compromised on their unique musical style. Their unwavering dedication eventually bore fruit, leading to a rare and remarkable success in the Korean music scene. Silica Gel has established themselves as a band that crafts brave new sounds, combining their unique psychedelia with explosive energy in live performances, all grounded in a vibrant and diverse spectrum of musical expression. Silica Gel debuted in August 2015, received critical acclaim with their first full-length album, [Silica Gel], released in 2016, winning three rookie awards, including "Rookie of the Year" at the Korean Music Awards. After their military service, they ignited new success with [Desert Eagle] in 2021 and [NO PAIN] in 2022, marking a steep upward trajectory. In 2023, they continued their streak of excellence with [Tik Tak Tok], winning the "Best Modern Rock Song" category for the third consecutive year at the Korean Music Awards, as well as achieving the prestigious "Musician of the Year" honor.
