About Sawyer Fredericks
Americana singer-songwriter, Sawyer Fredericks, hailing from his family farm in central New York State, cut his teeth at the age of 13, playing local farmers markets, open mics, and iconic New York venues like Caffe Lena, the Towne Crier Cafe, and The Bitter End. With his deep, beyond-his-years original lyrics and melodies, raw, soulful vocals, and powerful live performances, Sawyer seemed an unlikely match for reality tv, but having been scouted by casting directors at 15, he quickly won over broad audiences with his genuine delivery and unique arrangements of classic songs, going on to win season 8 of NBC's The Voice. Fresh from that whirlwind, Fredericks went forward with the release of his major label debut, A Good Storm, with Republic Records, an impressive blend of soulful Folk, blues, and rock, entirely written or co-written by Sawyer. Choosing to go independent, for more creative freedom, his 2018 Hide Your Ghost, fully written and produced by Fredericks, sheds the high gloss major label treatment, and stays true to Fredericks’s honest and elegantly stripped down style, a self-described “free range folk”, incorporating elements of blues, roots rock, and jazz with live instrumental arrangements throughout. In writing about his top ten Americana albums of 2018 in No Depression and AXS Magazine, Chris Griffy recommends Hide Your Ghost as “a bluesy folk rocker with a no-frills production that relies on Fredericks' raw voice to carry the emotional weight.” With song premieres in People Magazine, American Songwriter, DittyTV and an album preview in Billboard, on May 1, 2020 Fredericks released his 4th album, Flowers For You. “With his second independent album, Flowers For You, Fredericks is expanding his sound even more, moving from bluesy folk into more expansive Americana, rock, and tinges of jazz,” remarks Chris Griffy in Concert Hopper. The album was included in No Depression Readers’ 50 Favorite Roots Music Albums of 2020. Two songs from Flowers For You won top awards from the 18th annual Independent Music Awards, "Born" won in the Folk/Singer-Songwriter category and "Amen" won the Vox Pop award in the Social Action Song category. Since the release of the album, “Born” has been in rotation on SiriusXM’s Coffee House channel and was covered by Amazon Music's editorial 'Fresh Folk and Americana' playlist. In January 2021 in advance of the inauguration, Sawyer released his rendition of the iconic “What A Wonderful World” with an accompanying animated video. After a pandemic imposed touring hiatus, Sawyer went back on the road with friends and collaborators, The Accidentals, in fall of 2021 for a 25-show run through the midwest, southeast and northeast, including stops at The Ark in Ann Arbor, multiple City Wineries, and Club Passim. Throughout his career, Sawyer has played many festivals and prestigious venues like the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival with 2019 touring highlights including official showcases at SXSW, AmericanaFest, Folk Alliance International, and BMI's Island Hopper Songwriter Fest. 2022 will find Sawyer back on the road, both locally and nationally, and returning to showcase at Folk Alliance as well.

A historic venue reunites with the incomparable Sawyer Fredericks. Tasty food was just an appetizer for the main course of Sawyer Fredericks and his serving of solidly honest music and a voice that is a fluke of nature. But a needed fluke in that he's using it to project grown up thoughts and feelings straight through the BS of regular societal life right to your gut. Yes, Sawyer's music can hit you like he's cleansing your chakras from head to toe. If you don't believe me, find a ticket, which is always affordable relative to so many other "entertainers", and see for yourself.

Lending his talent to help support HavenOfHopeFarm.org , Sawyer and his band were locked in and played a great set of Sawyer classics and some blistering new stuff. A real fun night with lots of friends, a cool meet and greet, and even baked goods for sale. Any downside? 🤔 I think it rained during the show, but we were inside so I guess that doesn't count. Nope, all good. Find out where he's going to be and see him perform. Check out his awesome new stuff he's creating to at https://www.patreon.com/Sawyerfredericks

This was something special. Sawyer performed with the Caroga Arts Collective string ensemble. House of the Rising Sun was unforgettable and if you weren't there you missed experiencing that and other amazing songs in a format that raised them to new well-deserved heights. There was no doubt that the drive over the hills and through the Adirondacks woods would be worth it but the brilliance of the night was meteoric. Sawyer's first time in my hometown thanks in part to tracking him on BandsInTown. I've traveled many miles over the last 4 years or so to see him perform and have never been disappointed. This time I got a gift of only having to travel 12 minutes from my driveway. See him anytime you can, but beware, you'll probably want to keep going back. Btw, he is creating some great new stuff on a whole new level. Check out his Patreon page to help make it happen. https://www.patreon.com/Sawyerfredericks

Remember that time Sawyer Fredericks broke a guitar string mid-song and still got through it like the pro he always seems to be? And when Sav from The Accidentals restrung it back stage in about 5 minutes? Well I do because I was there👍There are always memories to be made at every Sawyer Fredericks concert and that's no BS. This venue held tight to the tour/venue rules regarding Covid which helped make the room feel the safest possible and feeling safer is always a good way to enjoy a concert.

Over the last few years, Sawyer Fredericks has toured North America from coast to coast several times. One venue representing the East part of that deal is Jonathan's sitting literally across the street from the Atlantic Ocean. He always packs this place with enthusuastic and supportive audiences. Dinner downstairs(with a $25 voucher from your ticket) was a relaxing way to prepare to move upstairs where the room was filled with tables and chairs, focused fans, and wall to wall music from Sawyer and his band plus co-headliners The Accidentals.

Sawyer and the bands performance get max stars. The venue was kind of snooty about cameras and videos so I'd give it 2 maybe. Not appreciated especially considering there were dozens of friends making up the tightly packed audience that are regular Sawyer Fredericks fans. Darryl's place felt a little full of itself which is 100% the opposite of Sawyer Fredericks energy and demeanor. I'd go back again and put up with it no problem in exchange for being at a live Sawyer Fredericks performance though.

The Funky Biscuit lived up to its rep as having an enthusiastic and tuned in audience. A lot of high energy from Sawyer and the band was generated in return to make for a memorable sensory experience. Parking was a little " funky" until I found the reserved valet section for $10 which was worth it for piece of mind and time savings. Go next if you can and take home your own memories of great music from Sawyer Fredericks and The Funky Biscuit.

I give Sawyer Fredericks the highest marks possible for genuinely moving and meaningful music, lyrics and delivery. There is no one out there like him. Seeing him perform live is should definitely a default bucket list entry. It was "only" he and and his guitar but that left no void or absence of totally immersive folk/rock/blues vibes. He's the whole package distilled to its simplest form. See him if you can. Affordable and spectacular. Like they say, "life is short, buy the damn tickets"

I attended this folk festival last night traveling from Ohio! I had such a great time! They had several talented artists and ended with Sawyer Fredericks the winner of The Voice 2008! Sawyer is now 24 years old and is a one of a kind independent artist! He filled the room with his golden voice an incredible experience! This place was just remodeled and looks and sounds fantastic! They also sever food and drinks! I had such a great time at this event!
