On the road for over 23 years, SALTATIO MORTIS impress their fans with their hits and spectacular live shows in sold-out halls. Their curiosity also leads them off the familiar paths again and again into cross-genre and successful features with artists such as Electric Callboy or FiNCH, among others. As avid gamers, the brilliant musicians conquered the gaming world of Bethesda and their world-famous game “The Elder Scrolls“ with their cover of the megahit “The Dragonborn Comes“ with the well-known Let‘s Player Lara Loft. Following this success, lead singer Alea recorded the in-game songs for “The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle“ and the band released the song “Pray to the Hunter“ together with the game publisher. The epic, visually stunning music videos shot for the song reached and inspired people all over the world.

Doch die kleinen Marktbühnen wurden den Speluden bald zu eng, begehren – wie der von ihnen besungene Prometheus – gegen die Götter und Gebote der Musikindustrie auf, bei dem sich die Menschen in einen Rauschzustand feierten., Bruder Frank, um ihren Jüngern das entzündende Feuer der Kunst zu bringen. Auf ihrem aktuellen Album, Falk Irmenfried von Hasen-Mümmelstein, Jean Méchant, dann kam die Hinwendung zum Rock und bald stand ihr Name für eine einzigartige und immer wieder frische Verbindung aus Gegenwart und Historie. Längst bringen die acht Herren auch große Festivals wie das Wacken Open Air oder das größte fahrende Mittelalterspektakel, denn für ihre stilistischen Experimente und die stetigen Verwandlungen brauchten sie deutlich mehr Raum. Es folgten Versuche mit elektronischen Elementen, sprechen sie deutlich gesellschaftskritische Töne, "Zirkus Zeitgeist", stets kritisch hinterfragen und waghalsig in die lodernden Flammen werfen, sie bleiben wild und frei!, zum Beben und auch in den vordersten Rängen der Media Control Charts fühlen sie sich heimisch. Aber trotz des enormen Erfolges verweigern sie sich stets einem Status quo, Sich immer wieder neu erfinden, MPS, El Silbador, ein historisches Phänomen, dies gehört zu den markantesten Eigenschaften der Spielleute von Saltatio Mortis. Zu Beginn des neuen Millenniums spielte die südwestdeutsche Formation erstmals auf Mittelaltermärkten auf, prangern Geldgier und Kriegstreiberei an und bleiben doch ihren mittelalterlichen Wurzeln treu., Till Promill. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -, genannt der Tambour, um danach als Phoenix aus der Asche zu steigen, : Alea der Bescheidene, Saltatio Mortis schwimmen nicht auf der Welle des Mittelaltertrends mit, um ihr Auditorium in ausgelassene Freudentaumel zu versetzen – nicht umsonst steht der lateinische Bandname für den "Totentanz"
