Turmoil is a band from Philadelphia. They play the early style of metalcore (the sound that was pioneered by bands like Cro-Mags and Agnostic Front, not the modern, more popular form of metalcore). Originally started in 1992 as a way for five kids to kill boredom, their first full-length came in 1996, entitled From Bleeding Hands. The following year, Anchor was released. Their last studio release was The Process Of..., in 1999. All three were released on Century Media Records. A retrospective album compiling all of the band's prior studio work as well as two new tracks was released in 2005, entitled Staring Back. It was released by, and the band is currently signed to, Abacus Recordings, a subsidiary of Century Media. They are working on a new album, which is expected to be released in late 2006.
