About Vince Gill
Vince Gill (born April 12, 1957) is an American country music musician, songwriter, singer and a member of the Country Music Hall Of Fame. He was born in Norman, Oklahoma, the home of the University of Oklahoma Sooners and learned to play several instruments, including banjo and guitar before he started high school at Oklahoma City's Northwest Classen High School. After he graduated, he played in a number of bluegrass bands. He debuted on the national scene with the country rock band Pure Prairie League in 1979, appearing on that band's album Can't Hold Back. Gill is the lead singer on their hit song, "Let Me Love You Tonight" (1980), which he was still performing in concert years later - thus, he said, confusing many fans who knew him only from his subsequent solo work. Gill appeared on two subsequent albums along with then-wife Janis Gill before signing as a solo with RCA Records in 1983. He first charted while on that label. In 1989 he switched to MCA Records where he recorded his breakthrough hit "When I Call Your Name." His 1998 album The Key received great critical acclaim. His other albums include Next Big Thing (2003) and Let's Make Sure We Kiss Goodbye (2000). Gill hosted the CMA Awards every year from 1992 to 2003. In 2004 he received a Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance. In 1997, he was inducted into the Western Performers Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He married country singer Janis Gill of Sweethearts of the Rodeo fame, in 1980. The couple have one daughter, Jennifer Jerene Gill, born May 5 1982. Vince and Janis separated in the mid-1990's and eventually divorced in June 1998. Vince later began dating and eventually married Christian/pop singer Amy Grant in March of 2000. They have one daughter, Corrina Grant Gill born March 12 2001. Dire Straits leader Mark Knopfler was a fan of Gill's, and had asked Gill to join the band full time. Gill turned down the invitation but did sing backup on one song ("The Bug") from Dire Straits' album On Every Street. Gill has also sung duets with numerous artists, including Dolly Parton ("I Will Always Love You"), Reba McEntire ("Oklahoma Swing," "The Heart Won't Lie," "It Just Has to Be That Way"). He also once considered buying a horse farm in Guthrie, Oklahoma with Reba, Amy Grant ("House of Love"), and Barbra Streisand ("If You Ever Leave Me"); his other credits as a backup vocalist have included "Girls With Guitars" by Wynonna Judd (written by Mary-Chapin Carpenter, who, coincidentally, had a country hit with her cover of "The Bug") and "Nothing Left Behind Us" by Richard Marx.

Vince Gills show was fantastic. He is such a humble star. I wish he had played something from Pure Prairie League and I wish he had finished with Desperado. He plays songs from other artists. I wish he had played songs from bands he has been in or is currently in. But the show was fantastic. But if he finished with Desperado he would have blow. The doors off the Cove!

Best show ever. Vince gave it his all, and we in Columbia will remember that forever. Great mix of old and new songs and musical variety. Besides the great voice he lived up to “best guitar player in Nashville.” We loved Wendy Moton. She’s fabulous. I went home and listened to her videos til 3 am. Just doesn’t get any better than these two and this band. Come again, please. We LOVE you!!!!

What an amazing show….. Vince did not stop singing for almost 3 hrs! He spoke a bit in between songs and his stories were so down to earth…. But Vince is such a regular guy…… he introduced two members of his band and they sang their brand new recordings. Both artists sang a GREAT song and their voices were unique so it was well received.

I've always been a huge vince gill fan, that man can sing like nobody else but I didn't expect him to call one of the audience people a dumbass. I would still go see his concerts. He was nice and apologized to the audience for the show a couple of years ago when he was supposed to Charlotte but had to cancel because of his wife falling off her bicycle

If was an awesome 3 hour concert. They sound amazing, especially for having been around so long! Each Eagle had his time to shine during the show. Seems like everyone around us really enjoyed it—even the 16 year olds behind us who must have parents who raised them right!! 😁 The sound was great, the performers were entertaining, the merch was reasonably priced….I’m glad we made the trip up from Seattle!

Great vocals, packed show, harmonies were on point. Would’ve loved to see Deacon Frey in this Show but hopefully he gets better for next time. To see him performing his dad’s hits in his hometown state would of been Epic! Wish Hotel California had a reprise during the encore as I didn’t expect the show to start so soon. Missed that song as parking was confusing.

Vince Gill is a once in a life time performer with unbelievable talent. He played his heart out and sang his classics and about 5 new songs. This was some REAL Country Music and his band was tight and sounded amazing. I could see why he performs with the Eagles currently and has 20 Gammy awards. Great Venue was a BOUNS.

Incredible concert. Started at 730 on the dot and Vince said he would play for 3 hours....and he certainly did. Venue acoustics were amazing. He played a lot of his new music and told great stories. Many would be upset with all the new music but it was very impressive. Ended by singing Go REst High. This was a cry-worthy concert. Can't say enough good things.
