Singer, songwriter and actress WILLOW SMITH has made her mark on a global scale ever since her musical debut at the age of 9. With the certified double platinum hit in the US, “Whip My Hair” in 2010, Smith is the youngest artist ever in the US to release a single with that accolade. In 2011, Smith was honored with the BET “Young Stars” Award, an honor she shared with her brother Jaden. She also received 2011 BET Award nominations for “Video of the Year” for “Whip My Hair” and “Best New Artist.” In the same year, she won the NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding New Artist.” In 2015, Smith made forays into the high fashion sector, eventually landing covers for publications like Teen Vogue, Interview, Dazed, CR Fashion Book, Garage, i-D, W, and more. She has also been the face of Chanel eyewear, Marc Jacobs, and Maison Margiela Fragrance. In 2012, she joined her mother Jada Pinkett-Smith in her advocacy to end human trafficking in the United States. As part of the project, she attended Senator John Kerry’s congressional hearing on human trafficking and helped launch the first Bi-Partisan Senate Caucus to combat human trafficking. She continues to raise awareness through the organization Don’t Sell Bodies, founded by her mother. Smith has also emerged as one of the voices of her generation, having thrown staunch support behind movements for racial justice, feminism, and environmentalism.
