The history of rock ’n’ roll is a story of splintering. Stop here for 10 seconds, and think: How many niches can you name without even trying, without having to pause for just a split second? They seem infinite and, already the better part of a century since rock’s bastard birth, still ceaseless, each new form defined by the mainframe’s perpetuity of flux. But over the last 15 years, The War on Drugs have steadily emerged as one of the mightiest counterweights to this endless division, reconnecting rock’s manifold hyphenates with an ardor and ease that suggest they were never split far apart in the first place. Folk, indie, kosmiche, noise, roots, arena, psychedelic, soft, whatever—The War on Drugs are this century’s great rock ’n’ roll synthesists, obviating the gaps between the underground and the mainstream, between the abstruse and the anthemic, making records that wrestle a fractured past into a unified and engrossing present. The War on Drugs have never done that so well as they do with I Don’t Live Here Anymore, their fifth studio album and their most compulsive and bold set of songs to date.

The War on Drugs are maybe one of the best bands of the last twenty years. Adam messed up on the lyrics of Eyes to the Wind and they they stopped the song. Never seen that happen before. Nevertheless it was a great show. Last point though is the most important: The National are absolutely terrible. Every song sounds the same as the last. The singer drones on and on with the same note. Absolutely no range. Literally left the show after 3 songs.
The Meritage Resort And Spa Napa, CA2nd time seeing The War on Drugs live and both times were amazing. I can’t wait for the 3rd time, because I’m going to at least one show every tour from here on out. Please tour with Lucious and The National again - the entire show, all 3 bands @ United Center was beyond words. I’ve been to countless shows and that one is in the top 3. 🤘
United Center Chicago, ILconcert was good, first time seeing them. opening act lo moon was also good, but not mentioned on any website which is kinda lame. what was disappointing was our seats. the seat chart on ticketmaster for red hat amphitheater was totally fraudulent. it showed a cordoned off area of 6 seats, but was really just a long row of shoulder to shoulder folding chairs. what ticketmaster showed as our seats…totally false
Red Hat Amphitheater Raleigh, NCI’ve been trying to catch WOD for some time and out of the blue they put on an epic show on top of Mt. Tamalpais in the rustic outdoor theater within the state park! They brought fantastic energy and absolute professionalism and talent along with their unique and fresh set list and song book. They are a band for the ages that appeals to so many. What a wonderful show!
Mount Tamalpais State Park Mill Valley, CAIncredible show! Fell in love with these guys in 2014 when I first heard the Lost In A Dream album. So then at Massey Hall in 2017 and thought it would be hard to top that show. Last night was equally as good. Sound was incredible. Set list ticked all the boxes. Now trying to figure out how to see them again on this tour.
