My daughter, the music teacher, came with me, and we had a lovely time! The music was amazing, and the bits of business kept us engaged. We both loved the symbolism of traveling through the dark to the return of the sun. The sing-along aspect was a wonderful surprise. I croak like a frog but felt welcome in that crowd anyway. Windborne gave a warm, creative, and delightfully original performance. The venue was very welcoming, and appropriate, but I had hoped for an enclosure that would help express the unique style of harmony that Windborne has superbly developed. I am not aware of the possibility of performing in the original church building (which is next door), but that would really be an interesting setting if that would be possible. Nevertheless, I loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Windborne concert last night at Ascension Episcopal Church. The acoustics are excellent and it is a beautiful old building. The hosts, Folklore Society of Greater Washington, were welcoming and helpful. And the music-- it was amazing. The harmonies were excellent and the stories the members told about each song were engaging and fascinating. There were moving songs and funny songs, but all were amazing. Thank you.
