The year was 1969, and these 'kids' had the nerve to carry the name WAR at a time when peace was the slogan in an anti-Vietnam America. "Our mission was to spread a message of brotherhood and harmony," states one of WAR's founding members, singer/keyboardist Lonnie Jordan. "Our instruments and voices became our weapons of choice and the songs our ammunition. We spoke out against racism, hunger, gangs, crimes, and turf wars, as we embraced all people with hope and the spirit of brotherhood. Some older groups/bands lose something over time but WAR has stood the test of time. They were absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! App won’t let me give the full 5 stars for some reason. I’d give 6 if I could!!!
Buckhead Theatre Atlanta, GAThe band was great. The sound was very good and the venue was very nice. I would love to see more of my favorite bands there. I would really love to see George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic there.
Naper Settlement Naperville, ILThey were magical and magnificent! Vintage gold—they keep getting better and better. The music and delivery were fantastic. The repertoire was on point. Didn’t miss a beat. Played all the favorites.

Morongo Casino Resort and Spa Cabazon, CAWOWZA! I have loved War since the 70s and I was not disappointed to see this legendary multi genre band perform. Exceptional!! The acoustics in lighting were phenomenal at this venue too.
