X-Raided (Anerae VeShaughn Brown) has established himself as one of hip-hop's most distinctive voices, building a legacy defined by lyrical excellence, artistic independence, resilience, and evolution. The Sacramento-born Strange Music, Inc. recording artist and CEO of Bloc Star Evolution has emerged as a successful music industry executive and a devoted family man living a life he once could only imagine. His story began in South Sacramento, where he signed his first recording contract with Black Market Records at just 16 years old. His debut album, Psycho Active (1992), introduced an uncompromising young lyricist whose vivid storytelling, intricate rhyme patterns, and unmistakable delivery helped establish his reputation in West Coast hip-hop. Over the decades that followed, albums including Xorcist, The Unforgiven Vol. 1, and numerous subsequent releases earned him a dedicated international following and a lasting place in independent hip-hop history. X-Raided overcame a tumultuous childhood impacted by an absentee father, gang initiation and years of incarceration. Through it all, he never abandoned his creative ambitions or entrepreneurial vision. His relentless determination allowed him to build a new life for himself, resulting in a remarkable period of personal growth, professional accomplishment, and creative expansion. X-Raided signed with independent hip-hop powerhouse Strange Music, joining a roster led by internationally acclaimed rapper and entrepreneur Tech N9ne. The partnership introduced a new generation of listeners to his formidable lyrical abilities and opened another significant chapter in his career. His acclaimed conceptual trilogy, A Prayer in Hell (2023), A Sin in Heaven (2024), and A Prophecy in Purgatory (2025), explored faith, accountability, transformation, and the complexities of the human experience. Together, the projects demonstrated an artist operating at a new level of creative maturity, combining the technical precision that established his reputation with a deeper sense of purpose and perspective. Beyond the recording studio, X-Raided has continued expanding his influence as the founder and CEO of Bloc Star Evolution, an independent entertainment company providing label services and distribution for emerging artists and record labels. His evolution from aspiring young rapper to accomplished recording artist and music executive reflects a commitment not only to personal achievement, but to creating opportunities for others. Now, over thirty years into his career, X-Raided is preparing to embark on perhaps the most liberated period of his journey yet. With a celebrated catalog behind him, a growing entertainment enterprise under his leadership, and some of his most ambitious music still ahead of him, X-Raided is no longer defined by what he overcame: he is defined by what he has become. And his story is far from over.
