For 25 years, Zuco103 has been enchanting audiences worldwide and breaking down genre boundaries with their unique Brazilectro sound: a mix of Brazilian samba, bossa nova, and jazz, combined with experimental electronic grooves and funky beats. Founded in 1999 by Dutch drummer Stefan Kruger, German keyboardist Stefan Schmid, and charismatic Brazilian singer Lilian Vieira, the band emerged within the vibrant acid jazz scene in Amsterdam, connecting with groups such as SFeQ and New Cool Collective. With their contemporary interpretation of the Brazilian Tropicalia movement, Zuco103 brings a fresh, energetic mix of styles. Their debut album Outro Lado was released in 1999 under Crammed Discs /Ziriguiboom, immediately confirming their reputation as pioneers bridging cultures and transcending borders. Remix projects and collaborations with international artists such as Joe Jackson and legendary reggae and dub producer Lee "Scratch" Perry further enriched their sound. Over the years, Zuco103 has released nine studio albums, including the critically acclaimed Telenova (2023), which was recently awarded an Dutch Edison Award. Known for their dynamic live performances, Zuco103 has toured the world and played at international festivals, including Sziget, Glastonbury, Rock Werchter, Montreux Jazz Festival, San Sebastián Jazz Festival, and Fuji Rock Festival. In the Netherlands, they’ve performed at events such as Lowlands, Pinkpop, and multiple editions of the North Sea Jazz Festival.
