Cruz Contreras is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer whose work bridges cosmic country, Americana, and Appalachian roots. With a career spanning nearly three decades, he has left a lasting mark on American roots music. As the founder and frontman of The Black Lillies and co-founder of Robinella and the CCstringband, Contreras has topped the Billboard and Americana charts, won Independent Music Awards, and earned a nomination for the Americana Music Association's Emerging Artist of the Year. He’s performed on national stages from Late Night with Conan O’Brien to PBS's Sun Studio Sessions, and taken the Grand Ole Opry stage more than 40 times. His music has been praised by Rolling Stone, NPR, Vanity Fair, and American Songwriter. Now touring in support of his debut solo album Cosmico, Cruz brings his signature blend of grounded lyricism and genre-blurring sound to stages across the country — performing both his solo work and selections from The Black Lillies’ catalog.
