About Blacktop Mojo
A hard-driving Southern rock unit based out of Palestine, Texas, Blacktop Mojo's fiery blend of post-grunge, classic rock, and metal falls somewhere between Soundgarden, Black Stone Cherry, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Founded in 2012 by frontman Matt James and drummer Nathan Gillis, the band eventually morphed into a five-piece with the additions of bass player Matt Curtis and guitarists Ryan Kiefer and Kenneth Irwin. They released their debut album, I Am, in 2014, followed by a heavy bout of touring that saw the group sharing the stage with a wide array of heavy hitters, including Bon Jovi, Sammy Hagar, Candlebox, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Black Stone Cherry, Shaman’s Harvest, Pop Evil, Puddle of Mudd, and Drowning Pool among others. Can't believe this was a "Free" show!!! They blew the roof off of the Bareback! Such a fun kickass band everyone in Blacktop Mojo is incredibly talented and each one dominants the stage! Such a tight sound and exceptional energy coming from that stage really pours into the audience into our souls! Go see them live it's an experience not just a show! Holy Sh*#!!!! These guys were F’ing awesome. The lead vox, dual guitars, bassist playing acoustic guitar for “In the Air tonight” cover singalong. They were fantastic, definitely should be seen live. And cool as hell hanging with them afterwards. Anyone contemplating seeing them live should DEFINITELY GO! You will not be disappointed, the real deal. They deserve big success in a just & fair world.

This was a fantastic concert. I did the VIP thing and got to meet the band. A really nice bunch of guys playing music and having fun. The show was professional and full of strong vocals with powerful riffs. They do a few covers which are well-done. I'd prefer them just playing their own tunes. They have an incredible variety of songs that could fill any setlist.

This band is unparalleled musicians and lyricists...the energy and they absolutely connect with the fans...after show they are grateful, kind and very real..Austin the merch guy n VIP is incredibly cool and accommodating, caring and genuine. My grandsons first concert, they went over and above to acknowledge him..gave him pic, drum sticks, let him hold guitar...he will NEVER forget that night... Family oriented...yet kicking ass

Blacktop Mojo was awesome. Never heard of the other bands but sumo cyco and non point were ok but wouldn’t pay to see them again. Only disappointing thing was Blacktop Mojo wasn’t headlining so their set was shorter. Can wait to see them again and hopefully on their own tour so their set will be longer.

Black Top Mojo rocked the Jolly Fox! They brought it last night with original songs mixed with spot on covers! They live up too the excellent reputation of a killer rocking band. With the soulful vocals to the amazing guitars and haunting drums! They sound even better live then on their records. Go see them Yu won't be disappointed!!

The bands were awesome,,, the venue and the personal leaves a lot to be desired,,, sold up charged tickets that did nothing for you,, then had only few seats at the bar way in the back for general admission to sit ,,, then left tables reserved that no one bought ,,, and none for GA to sit

These guys were awesome...Sounded great and played great...My only complaint is they only played about 7 songs and it was a short set...I came to see BTM and not the headliner, they should have been the headliner...BTM was way better than the opening band and I will see them anytime they come to town.

The show was amazing! The guys put on a great show as usual... However the venue, while really clean and great decor, needed to up their air conditioning game. The 96 degrees followed us inside the venue. But despite the heat, Blacktop Mojo put on a great show!

I got to do the "meet & greet "before the show, and really enjoyed it. Blacktop Mojo is a great band, and the people in it, and connected to it, are super nice. The venue in Tulsa, "The Shrine," was a wonderful place to see the show!
