About Blacktop Mojo
A hard-driving Southern rock unit based out of Palestine, Texas, Blacktop Mojo's fiery blend of post-grunge, classic rock, and metal falls somewhere between Soundgarden, Black Stone Cherry, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Founded in 2012 by frontman Matt James and drummer Nathan Gillis, the band eventually morphed into a five-piece with the additions of bass player Matt Curtis and guitarists Ryan Kiefer and Kenneth Irwin. They released their debut album, I Am, in 2014, followed by a heavy bout of touring that saw the group sharing the stage with a wide array of heavy hitters, including Bon Jovi, Sammy Hagar, Candlebox, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Black Stone Cherry, Shaman’s Harvest, Pop Evil, Puddle of Mudd, and Drowning Pool among others. Holy Sh*#!!!! These guys were F’ing awesome. The lead vox, dual guitars, bassist playing acoustic guitar for “In the Air tonight” cover singalong. They were fantastic, definitely should be seen live. And cool as hell hanging with them afterwards. Anyone contemplating seeing them live should DEFINITELY GO! You will not be disappointed, the real deal. They deserve big success in a just & fair world.

This band is unparalleled musicians and lyricists...the energy and they absolutely connect with the fans...after show they are grateful, kind and very real..Austin the merch guy n VIP is incredibly cool and accommodating, caring and genuine. My grandsons first concert, they went over and above to acknowledge him..gave him pic, drum sticks, let him hold guitar...he will NEVER forget that night... Family oriented...yet kicking ass

Blacktop Mojo was awesome. Never heard of the other bands but sumo cyco and non point were ok but wouldn’t pay to see them again. Only disappointing thing was Blacktop Mojo wasn’t headlining so their set was shorter. Can wait to see them again and hopefully on their own tour so their set will be longer.

Black Top Mojo rocked the Jolly Fox! They brought it last night with original songs mixed with spot on covers! They live up too the excellent reputation of a killer rocking band. With the soulful vocals to the amazing guitars and haunting drums! They sound even better live then on their records. Go see them Yu won't be disappointed!!

These guys were awesome...Sounded great and played great...My only complaint is they only played about 7 songs and it was a short set...I came to see BTM and not the headliner, they should have been the headliner...BTM was way better than the opening band and I will see them anytime they come to town.

I got to do the "meet & greet "before the show, and really enjoyed it. Blacktop Mojo is a great band, and the people in it, and connected to it, are super nice. The venue in Tulsa, "The Shrine," was a wonderful place to see the show!

First time there and seeing both bands. Great place to see a show. Ten Ton was excellent- solid musicianship all around and it was fun being able to chat with them. Blacktop plays big - sounds a bit like Shinedown.

Excellent show! Blacktop Mojo is one of the very best newer bands out at the moment. They blow Greta Van Fleet away. They were opening for Buck Cherry but are a far better band than Buck Cherry is.
