America's premiere group dedicated to preserving and expanding the genre of this great music we know and love, Doo Wop! This supergroup features some of the world's most talented performers from Broadway and beyond. With a hit PBS Special airing all over the country, four albums streaming on all major music platforms, and over ten years of playing sold out shows all over the country and the world. Featuring stars from the Broadway shows Jersey Boys, Motown, Beautiful and Hairspray, DWP is inspired by inner city African American vocal groups like The Flamingos, The Five Satins, The Miracles and later The Four Seasons, along with all the original groups that created the sound of Doo Wop. The Doo Wop Project's live show starts at the beginning, five guys on a street corner singing tight harmonies. From there, this epic show expands the genre by incorporating the sounds of today's top artists such as Amy Winehouse, Maroon 5, Garth Brooks, Jason Mraz, and Adele, to name a few. The boys of DWP then take these contemporary songs and give them a Doo Wop twist, something they like to call, “Doo Wopify”. Thanks to this exciting approach, DWP appeals to every generation. Took my mother for the 4/22 show and she really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the old songs as well as the doowop remakes of the more current songs. All the singers had good personalities and engaged the audience. The band was really good as well
On Stage at Kingsborough Brooklyn, NYIt was thoroughly entertaining from start to finish!! I loved the music and the chemistry between the members of the group. It was all in all a fun uplifting show. I have recommended it to many of my friends. I can't wait to see them again!!
American Music Theatre Lancaster, PAThe show was very good for most of the program with the exception of the addision of the two modern songs sung in doo wop style I could done without them. More traditional doo wop songs would have been better for me.
Clark Center For the Performing Arts Arroyo Grande, CAFabulous!! All the guys are extremely talented. Dwayne, the bass, is highlight of the show. Love the new sax player, too. Hotel was right next next door--could walk. Very convenient. Can't wait to go again!
Blue Gate Performing Arts Center Shipshewana, INThese guys are so high energy, you can't help but feel happy when they're on stage. They sang great songs, band was awesome, sound engineer also. Had a great time. They got those senior citizens on their feet!
