Brutal and beautiful, destructive and dynamic: a few words that can describe the phenomenon that is Eyes On Fire, one of the most inventive and dominating progressive metal bands to emerge from Indianapolis. Eyes On Fire have come to the forefront of the Midwest metal scene and impose the sonic assault of their independently released and self produced collection of work beginning with their debut EP titled ‘Anger To Ashes’ (released 2009), a devastating 8 track record spanning over 40 minutes, and the follow up 12 track full length album entitiled 'Victimizer' released June 2013. Since its inception in 2009, Eyes On Fire have created an aural showcase to highlight their radio-rock appeal as well as the dark, carnal and ferocious force that exudes on stage. The result is a collection of music that combines memorable hooks with emotional choruses and lyrics and a powerful and commanding live performance. Attention to detail coupled with careful, precise arrangements lend a depth and variety to their message in each track. With an addictive and captivating new record that embodies the dexterity and energy that is Eyes On Fire, this unique band of accomplished musicians – Sahar Montalvo (Lead Vocals), Shane Lanning (Guitars, Backing Vocals), Andrew Nixon (Lead Guitars), Dustin Green (Bass) and Shane Ailey (Drums) is poised to spread their infectious sound to the world, having had the pleasure and honor supporting such accomplished national touring bands as Bullet For My Valentine, Sevendust, Soilwork, In This Moment and more. “With rapid-fire drumming that’s machine gun fast and fantastic guitar work, Eyes On Fire have cultivated tight heavy metal riffs with a nod to prog-rock that will keep your head banging from start to finish. These talented players can shred with the best of them, making for a thoroughly enjoyable effort. Vocalist Sahar Montalvo alternates between singing and demonic screaming, which fits the music perfectly. The core of “Eyes On Fire” is more metal than prog, so there’s no 8-minute guitar solos here – and that’s fine by me. The biggest pitfall of progressive song structures is the tendency to drag, but Eyes On Fire know just how far they can develop their melodies before losing the listener’s attention; and that takes some skill.
