The Filthy Heathens came together during the chaos of the pandemic, brought together by a shared instinct to play loud, honest music with no safety net. What began with the chemistry between Bronson Hetzer, Ryan Palcic, and “Captain” Craig Bishop, took shape fast when guitarists Cody Doench and Dawson Stepp joined the fold. Five members. No brakes. Blending Southern grit with alt-edge, classic country with hard rock, their sound defies easy classification. It’s rich, raw, and rooted in something deeper than genre. This is music you can’t quite label — and that’s the point. Inspired by legends like Skynyrd and Waylon, with a nod to modern acts like Blackberry Smoke and The Steel Woods, their songs are road-tested, unapologetic, and built to be felt. Known for high-octane live shows and a rapidly growing fanbase, The Filthy Heathens have been hitting stages across the country with relentless momentum. One gig at a time, they’re building something real — and it’s catching on. Live, the band goes full throttle, and so do their crowds. Every performance is designed to pull you away from your phone and drop you straight into the moment. Their debut EP Etheridge dropped in May 2025, led by the singles “Tupelo Sun” and “Devils Like Me.” In February 2026, the band will release The Muscle Shoals Session, a raw, live-recorded EP captured at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio — a room that helped shape the very music that inspired them. With no frills and no filters, the recordings reflect exactly who they are on stage. The fuse is lit and the momentum keeps building. The Filthy Heathens will return to the studio in April 2026 to continue pushing forward — louder, tighter, and more dialed-in than ever.
