George is a 4-time Grammy Award winning Hawaiian slack key guitarist and vocalist whose repetoire focuses on traditional Hawaiian music. He has a weekly show on Maui called The SLACK KEY SHOW - Masters of Hawaiian Music that his nephew and protege, Shem Kahawaii, now hosts. George still appears on Maui periodically and also tours twice a year with other Slack Key guitarists and Hawaiian musicians. Between songs, George tells great stories of growing up and living in Hawaii. Local hula dancers sometimes grace the stage. He has recently relocated to the Santa Cruz CA area to be close to family and can be seen frequently in this area.

The event was fantastic! The venue was intimate, warm, and welcoming. Everyone was very friendly. The acoustics were just right for the venue. The music was performed with such joy emanating from the musicians that it touched the soul... Thank you for a wonderful evening of Hawaiian music. Maholo!
CLUB FOX Redwood City, CAGreat evening of authentic Hawaiian music! Each musician performed about 5 songs individually and then 2 songs together at the end. Concert opened with “Aloha ‘Oe” and closed with “He Hawai’i Aloha”. A couple of wahines even danced hula to a couple of songs. A magical experience; mahalo nui!
Club Passim Cambridge, MAA great show! Show starts promptly at 6:30 and the traffic into Lahaina is wicked. The show is a lot of fun, the different acts are all very talented. The hula lady is a definite added bonus , with her beautiful hula renditions of songs. Recommend
Slack Key Show - Masters of Hawaiian Music Lahaina, HIIn spite[ of the pouring rain and wind that blew umbrellas inside out , the show was spectacular . After visiting with friends, we enjoyed real Hawaiian music, dancing and talk story. We were in a warm and friendly place; just like Hawaii. Mary Alice
