Herb Alpert was the founder and frontman for the instrumental group The Tijuana Brass. Yet his most notable achievement on the Billboard charts was as a solo artist. He is the only artist to hit #1 on a vocal track "This Guy's In Love With You" and an instrumental, "Rise". "Rise" was also sampled in the 1997 rap song "Hypnotize" by the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. Alpert's musical accomplishments include five number one hits, twenty-eight albums on the Billboard charts, eight Grammy Awards, fourteen Platinum albums and fifteen Gold albums. As of 1996, Alpert had sold 72 million albums worldwide.

Herb and Lani, along with their band members, were really amazing! We had such a wonderful time! The week before, we were at a Maroon 5 concert, and I would take Herb and Lani anytime before them. I’m sure I’ll be going back to see Herb and Lani if they come back here again!
Guthrie Theater Minneapolis, MNI enjoyed watching past videos on the screen while seeing Herb Alpert and his wife, Loni perform the same songs live on stage. Herb’s stories were fun, the man has a good sense of humour! As well, the three accompanying musicians were top notch. Thank you all for a wonderful evening!
Algonquin Commons Theatre Nepean, ONFantastic concert! Herb still has amazing chops and it was fantastic to hear so many old favorites, but I’ve got to say that the drummer he brought with him, Tiki Pasillas, was really fabulous too. (Who knew maracas could be played like THAT!)
