Jacob Lusk is a powerhouse vocalist and dynamic performer whose emotive voice and bold presence have earned acclaim across the gospel, soul and pop worlds. Born and raised in Compton, California, Lusk began singing at age four. By five he was performing in church choirs. Music was in his blood: his late father, Gregory Lusk, was a respected music producer and Jacob grew up immersed in the sounds of gospel and soul greats like Billie Holiday, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight and The Winans. In 2016, a new chapter began with the formation of the genre-defying trio Gabriels. Their debut EP, Love and Hate in a Different Time (2021), was hailed as visionary. Elton John called it “one of the most seminal records I’ve heard in the past ten years.” Gabriels’ two-part debut album, Angels & Queens (2022–2023), a unique blend of gospel, cinematic soul and modern storytelling, was heralded by The Guardian as a contender for Album of the Year. Their 2022 performance at Glastonbury was praised as one of the must-see sets of the weekend. Lusk’s personal journey, marked by resilience, faith and creative evolution, continues to inspire. In 2024, Lusk parted ways with Gabriels to pursue a solo career and is currently recording his debut solo album. As he steps into this new era Lusk continues to break creative ground, bridging the sacred and the soulful, the past and the present. Most recently, Lusk appeared as a guest performer at Moby’s headline Coachella ‘26 show. His gospel infused performance of electronic classic, Natural Blues was widely heralded as one of the festival’s greatest moments. Lusk also appears on lead single, When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die from Moby’s latest album, Future Quiet, and on iconic DJ Honey Dijon’s newly released single, Satisfied. Known for his velvety tone, gospel roots, and flamboyant yet sincere stage presence, Lusk evokes comparisons to Nina Simone. His signature look - flowing capes and tailored suits has made him a style icon and a fan favourite. Jacob Lusk is carving out a space where artistry, spirit, and identity converge and the world is listening.
