Hailed as “the shaman of the Polish music scene”, Justyna Steczkowska is one of Poland’s most extraordinary and versatile artists – a vocalist, violinist, composer, songwriter, actress, and photographer. She is also the only Polish pop singer with an impressive four-octave vocal range. Over the course of her remarkable career, Justyna has released 20 studio albums, several live and concert albums, recorded over 300 songs, contributed to soundtracks, filmed around 60 music videos, and performed more than 3,000 concerts. Her talent, versatility, and artistic individuality have earned her immense respect within the industry and the love of millions of fans. Steczkowska’s unique artistry has been recognized with numerous awards, including 6 Fryderyk Awards, 2 Wiktor Awards, Gala’s Roses (Róże Gali), and the Amber Nightingale (Bursztynowy Słowik), among others. She has also collaborated with world-renowned artists such as José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, and Howard Shore. In recent years, Justyna has shared her vast musical experience as a coach on The Voice of Poland, where she earned the affectionate nickname “Mrs. Professor.” She currently serves as a judge on Your Face Sounds Familiar (the Polish edition of the international TV format). Basel 2025 marks Justyna’s return to the Eurovision Song Contest, exactly 30 years after she first represented Poland in 1995 with her song “Sama.” Behind the “Shaman of Polish Music” lies a lifetime devoted to art. Justyna first took the stage at the age of three, performing the Neapolitan classic O Sole Mio. Since then, she has continued to enchant audiences with her ethereal voice, deep spirituality, and magnetic stage presence. The Eurovision version of “GAJA”, her 2025 entry, is a manifestation of personal power, divine femininity, and transcendence. Gaja — Mother Earth — becomes a symbol of divinity, strength, and love, representing the union of human and celestial realms. Through this song, Justyna invites listeners to reconnect with the Earth, embrace their inner power, and rediscover harmony with time and destiny. Justyna’s musical inspirations range from cinematic compositions like Paul’s Dream by Hans Zimmer to icons such as Tina Turner, Sade, Lana Del Rey, and Billie Eilish. Her own songs, including SLAVIC and Pilgrimage, seamlessly blend traditional Polish sounds with modern production — think ethereal pop queen with a powerful, transcendent presence. Her Eurovision hero is Loreen, the Swedish singer who won the Contest twice, whom Justyna describes as “an extraordinary vocalist and an intriguing woman.”
