J. Plank (formerly Jeff Plankenhorn) is a BC-based singer-songwriter, guitarist and lap steel player whose music blends roots, blues, soul and folk. After two decades in Austin, Texas, he now calls Vancouver Island home and tours throughout North America and Europe. His new single, “The Closer,” is out now, previewing a new album recorded with The Southern Aces in the Netherlands, with additional sessions in Texas — including an upcoming duet with Ruthie Foster. Much of the record was cut live in the room with few overdubs, bringing Plank back to blues and roots rock with a raw, contemporary edge. Known for soulful vocals, deep groove and his signature lap steel, “The Plank,” J. Plank’s shows move easily between intimate storytelling and full-throttle roots music.

Jeff is always personable, puts on a great show and is an excellent performer. Some people are cut and dry in their delivery but Jeff makes you feel like you’re part of something. Always a pleasure to see him especially in an intimate venue.
Cantina Sounds House Concert Dripping Springs, TXLove the House of Rock for stage events and the pizza is delicious, also! Michael and Jeff did an amazing show for us. Those two are so talented alone, yet play together as if they were attached at the hip.
House Of Rock Corpus Christi, TXWhat an amazingly longtime show. We laughed, we cried, we danced. We visited with Jeff after the show and we donated to end Alzheimers. The music was great and Jeff is a real showman. He scored two big fans.
The Enclave at Cedar Park Senior Living Cedar Park, TXGreat Show! Really enjoyed the set list and experiencing Jeff on piano for the first time was exciting! Can’t wait for a new album ; his new tunes and song writing collaborations with his peers are excellent.
