About King's X
King's X is an American rock band that combines progressive metal, funk and soul with vocal arrangements influenced by gospel, blues, and British Invasion rock groups. The band's lyrics are largely based on the members' struggles with religion and self-acceptance. King's X was ranked No. 83 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.[5] Since being signed to Megaforce Records in 1987, King's X has released twelve studio albums, two official live albums, and several independent releases. The band's most recent studio album, XV, was released in 2008 on the InsideOut Music label. Since leaving Atlantic Records, following the release of Ear Candy in 1996, King's X have released albums through Metal Blade Records, InsideOut Music and independently. Each member of the group has recorded several solo albums and have made numerous guest appearances on other artists' albums, as well as participated in numerous compilation projects. Doug Pinnick and Ty Tabor also have many albums released with side bands in which they participate.[5] Early in their major label career the band secured opening slots on arena tours, including opening for bands like Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Scorpions, Pearl Jam and Mötley Crüe as well as the Woodstock '94 festival.[6] As of 2016 they continue to tour and perform live. The spiritual nature of the band's lyrics, particularly on their first four albums, has often led to them being labeled a Christian rock band, a label the members have rejected.

My son's 1st King's X show was awesome. The opening band was great with some awesome drumming and guitar solos. King's X mixed it up with crowd favorites, deep cuts, and new stuff. Encore was amazing with the whole crowd singing Goldilox as ritual persists. So glad he got to experience the wonder I have been lucky enough to see live many times over the years. 3 brothers so in sync on stage. We were born to be loved.

What a great show! I've seen King's X 17 or 18 times since 1990 and they never disappoint! This show was notable for them playing three songs from Gretchen Goes to Nebraska: Summerland, Pleiades and Mission. Everyone should go see King's X before they finally put their instruments down for good because they are one of the best rock bands in the history of music. It will be worth your time and money!

Front row, center for the show - just awesome. I think I had a perma-grin all night. The guys have such a simple approach: walk out, take the instruments, melt faces... The music and the musicianship speak for itself and the fans are 100% there for it. Great job guys! (Side note: hats off to Mount Dora Music Hall and Red Comet Productions - great venue and very well managed event!)

Kings X pours out every ounce of energy & passion to deliver an amazing performance. The sound was powerful & dynamic. Love the Mt Dora music hall for its intimate feel & ease of getting to. Doug & Jerry take the time to visit with fans who want to stick around after the show. Such a wonderful, talented, innovative & down-to-earth trio of musicians that create unforgettable memories & music.

King's X never fail to impress. They are just as great today as they ever have been. I know every fan of them says this, but they should be HUGE. They haven't toured anywhere close to me for quite a while, so I had to give in and travel 3 1/2 hours to see them because I don't know how many more chances I'll get to see these Kings.

King's X was outstanding! Doug Pinnick's growling bass tone, attack, and vocals were as good as it gets. Jerry Gaskill is a beast on the drums and keeps perfect time with Pinnick. Ty Tabor provides a the texture that pulls it all together. These guys are beyond tight! The venue, Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH, is top notch. Great acoustics, layout, bar, food, and staff. Highly recommend both.

Sold out show! After 15 years King’s X returned to Toronto to a house packed with fans! From the latest release to Dogman to OOTSP the band pulled out the stops. The crowd did t disappoint with sing along from Pillow (THUNDERING!) to fan favourite Goldilox. (damn that song should have been a single back in ‘86!)

I might be biased because they are one of my favorite bands but as always they put on a great show. Good song selections with a mix of new and old material and good audience involvement and as much of this new the lyrics to miss the songs.
