Since his debut over a decade ago, Texas and Hawaii-based Nelson has toured the world with POTR, playing countless sold-out shows and festivals, winning fans with electric liveperformances and a singular sound. They’ve also released seven studio albums to date including his most recent, 2021’s A Few Stars Apart. Produced by Dave Cobb, the album spent seven weeks at #1 on the Americana Albums chart and received widespread acclaim, with Rolling Stone declaring, “His best album yet…Nelson’s most compact, streamlined, and focused album,” while The Tennessean affirmed, “a collection of lyrically stirring, musically multifarious and ultimately hopeful roots rock storytelling.” Nelson also co-produced the music for 2018’s lauded A Star Is Born in addition to appearing in the film, and went on to win a BAFTA Award for Best Original Music, and a GRAMMY Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Lukas Nelson and his band played more songs and he said the audiences was very quiet and awesome.He means that DC audience the nicest one then any other shows that he and his band members went. He and his band members plays their lyrics a lot better than any other band’s. Because I notice that they never sing in bad words and anything that not appropriate. They play beautiful songs!

Also kudos to the security folks who managed to get a pair of hooting and screeching women to tone it down, at least during the quiet songs! Truly excellent show. Please, bring him back again!

I've seen them in Deer Valley, Sandy Amphitheater, Red Butte Gardens and the Union but Red Butte is my favorite venue. If you have a chance, I recommend you see this band live and in person!
